More than ten years in the Microsoft space, close to people and processes.
I grew up in the Bergisches Land in western Germany, still live there, and have been working in IT consulting since my dual study programme. My path led from IT Application Specialist through Senior Consultant and Team Lead into my current management role in the Microsoft space.

Manager Microsoft & Community Lead Modern Work
adesso SE, Cologne
I support nationwide enterprise clients and mid-sized companies with digital transformation, process improvement and (AI-based) automation. Most of the time it is about collaboration, cloud and AI, and in the end about what actually fits the case at hand and pays off. Technically and as a line manager I am responsible for the central Microsoft areas Modern Work, Microsoft 365, Copilot (AI), Power Platform, Azure, Exchange, Nintex and SharePoint at the Cologne and Siegen locations, along with team building, career development and strategic direction. On top of that came overall project leadership in several public sector projects, and with it plenty of things that rarely appear in a project plan: tending the partnership, keeping track of numbers and progress, coordinating partners, starting new topics and being there when something gets stuck. Beyond those locations I am involved in building up the Microsoft business in adesso’s international subsidiaries, with a focus on portfolio, network, client synergies and knowledge transfer. As Community Lead Modern Work I also look after a group of colleagues across locations. My contribution there lies mostly in making room: for exchange, learning, a sense of connection and the topics that concern all of us, AI above all. In our formats we sort out together what is happening right now, which questions come up and how the digital workplace is changing. Most of it does not come from me but from the group.

Team Lead Business Process Management

I built up the BPM team and was responsible for Modern Work, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Nintex, business consulting and enterprise content management, technically and partly as a line manager, as well as for developing the portfolio. That included sharpening the topics, building new portfolio elements and setting the team up accordingly. The focus was on collaboration, automation and content management: as a senior and lead expert I advised clients on digitalising their business processes in the Microsoft 365 context, with Nintex, Power Platform and built-in capabilities, from analysis to delivery. For the company-wide process landscape I introduced a dedicated tool.

Senior Consultant

In pre-sales I supported the sales team directly at the client and worked out with them what was actually needed, from the first conversation to the solution draft in the proposal. In workshops we went through Modern Workplace systems and business processes: what worked well, what was worth digitalising and where an adjustment would have brought little. I then helped with the delivery, from requirements through to rollout, around Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Nintex and Power Platform, from introduction and adaptation through automation to modelling entire process landscapes in BPMN. As Lead Consultant I was responsible for the design and strategy of the projects, in close coordination with project management and client. Added to that were leading agile projects, national and international trainings, coaching and mentoring new consultants and building up the RPA and e-signature practice areas.

Consultant
CGI Deutschland, Cologne
I worked as project manager, developer and trainer for SharePoint and Nintex, often within the same projects, so that I did not only gather the requirements but was also responsible for the delivery afterwards. The focus was on process improvement and digitalisation: recording workflows in workshops together with the business departments, capturing requirements, estimating effort and building the solutions in SharePoint and Nintex. Added to that were mobile infrastructure solutions with a focus on the public sector. As a trainer I passed on the knowledge of both platforms to clients and colleagues.
09/2014 – 09/2017
Dual student Business Informatics / IT Application Specialist
Miltenyi Biotec, Bergisch Gladbach
I completed a dual study programme in business informatics with a focus on IT application specialist, alternating every three months between practice phases at the company and study phases at FHDW. At the company I looked after the internal SharePoint farm and evolved it, from day-to-day operations through sites and permissions to supporting colleagues with adjustments. Added to that was improving and digitalising internal business processes with SharePoint and Nintex.

How I work
People before tools. Adoption begins in the organisation, not in the configuration menu.
Pragmatic over puristic. The solution has to fit maturity and budget, not the prettiest architecture diagram.
Share knowledge. A team that can do things on its own is worth more than a perfect delivery no one continues.
Communicate clearly. Especially, and above all, when things get complicated.
